The Green Album. Hits for Organ II

Read and write feedback
It is a well-established and popular tradition to transcribe famous pieces of music from opera and the concert hall for the organ, for hardly any other instrument is better suited to portraying instrumental colors and effects. Hits for Organ II contains a wealth of delightful pieces to discover aside from the classical organ repertoire: Offenbach’s Barcarolle from The Tales of Hoffmann, The Swan from Saint-Saëns’s Carnival of the Animals, Morning Mood from Grieg’s Peer Gynt, dances and marches from operas, as well as intimate piano pieces by Mozart, Chopin, and Schumann, and much more besides. Effective arrangements from the 19th century alongside new arrangements guarantee much enjoyment in playing and are suitable for many occasions. The "green album" follows on from the successful "red album" of Hits for Organ I (Carus 18.062), and is of medium difficulty level.
