This vocal quartet with piano accompaniment was written for Carnival in Rome in 1821. Rossini, Nicolò Paganini, the writer Massimo d’Azeglio and the singer Caterina Lipparini wrote the Italian text. Disguised as beggars, they meandered through the city, where they sang this music to guitar accompaniment.
