Sacred choral music for SAM and keyboard instrument

Read and write feedback

With lots of new compositions and fresh arrangements of well-known choral works, the Chorbuch a tre 2. Vol. 2 for two female voices and one male voice is guaranteed to bring new inspiration to singing in worship. The volume is an addition and continuation of the extremely popular first Chorbuch a tre from 2010 (Carus 2.120). Chorbuch a tre. Vol. 2 is primarily aimed at choirs with too few male voices to sing four-part repertoire. All the choral numbers come with a supporting part for a keyboard instrument (piano/organ), some of which are ad lib. The collection is an ideal treasure trove to support getting back to four-part singing in church choirs after the pandemic. All the pieces are easy to medium difficulty, with a broad range of styles.

The demand for sacred choral music for SAM is growing in many church choirs. The new edition "Chorbuch a tre 2" enables me to find and perform interesting choral literature for smaller choirs with only one male voice! Whether the well-known 4-8 part choral works by Handel, Mendelssohn Bartholdy or Rheinberger, for example, lose too much of their authenticity in the vocally reduced three-part version with organ accompaniment is something every choir director should decide for themselves. The diversity of the choral works in terms of stylistic periods and good organisation for use in the church year is pleasing.
